Unboxing the Funwhole Medieval Watchtower Buiding Block set F9027

Hey brick fans!  It's time for another unboxing blog post.  The set is the new FunWhole Medieval Watchtower F9027.  In this set, there are 1625 pieces which includes the custom lighting kit, 4 medieval themed minifigures and even an ox and cart.

In case, you are not familiar with Funwhole brand of building block sets, they are 100% Lego compatible, except for the minifigures.  This means you can interchange your Lego bricks and Funwhole bricks if you like.  The colour, quality and clutch of the bricks is similar to that of Lego.

I love that Funwhole always sends the boxes with each set and the stunning pictures on the the boxes makes them worth keeping.  The Funwhole boxes are very sturdy so I use them to keep my spare bricks and blocks in them.

The  Funwhole Medieval Watchtower building set is  now available through their online store and from Amazon.   If you happen to be checking out their store, you are welcome to use my code itsnotlego to save an extra 10% off your purchases.

Unboxing

Let's see what's in the box!

The box is packed with goodies including the thick instruction manual featuring the same artwork that's on the box.  You also get a service card with Funwhole's contact information, should you encounter any issues with your set.  There are also some fabric capes which I assume will be used on the minifigures when we assemble them later.

The ubiquitous orange box that one finds in every Funwhole set contains all of the unique lighting components for the Medieval watchtower.   Something I didn't expect to find is a sheet containing some corrections to the instruction manual.  This will be good to have as we build the set later.

Here's all of the parts bags you get in the set.  Note that I've sorted the numbered bags from 1 through 8. Each number corresponds to the section in the manual.  Bag inventory:

Section 1: 3 bags
Section 2: 3 bags
Section 3: 5 bags
Section 4: 3 bags
Section 5: 3 bags
Section 6: 3 bags
Section 7: 4 bags
Section 8: 1 bag

Additionally there are 2 other cellophane bags, one contains a bunch of chains and the other, marked F, contains all of the pieces to construct the four minifigures.

In total, there are 27 bags of parts in the set.

LED lighting kit

In the orange box, there are 2 pouches of lighting components, a metal tweezer, and a grey battery pack. Note that the battery pack uses 3 AAA batteries, not included.

Here are the contents of the light kit.

Hoping this blog post has helped you determine if you have all of the necessary parts bags and lighting components to successfully build the FunWhole Medieval Watchtower!

I'll be building this cool set and posting a full review with my thoughts soon.

Unboxing the Lego Compatible Panlos 613007 Martial Arts Centre

Hey brick fans!  Today we are going to see what's inside the Panlos 613007 Martial Spirit Budokan Building Block Set.

The set was generously provided to me by Afobrick.com.  They have a huge assortment of Lego compatible building block sets in their store.    Please check them out their online store if you get a chance.  They have decent pricing and you can save an extra 5% your entire purchase using code itsnotlego at checkout.

Here's where you can get this stunning set:  https://afobrick.com/en-ca/products/panlos-613007-martial-arts-gym?ref=oGOdUj_izrflQ

The Panlos Budokan set is quite a large set with 2681 pieces.  It comes with a nice, easy to follow instruction book, which is broken down into 8 different sections during the construction process.

Fortunately with so many pieces, there are numbered bags that correspond to each section of the build, so there's a lot less confusion when it comes to looking for a specific part.

Included with the Budokan set are 4 dark gray 16x16 stud baseplates.  These will be used to construct the grounds of the budokan and dojo.

There is a small sticker sheet for the kick training apparatus, but most of the other pieces in the set are printed parts.

A bonus feature of the martial arts centre is the lighting.  There are three light strings included and they are used to light up the courtyard and the dojo building.  As you will see with the completed set, the lighting really enhances the martial arts centre.

Panlos packages six minifigures with the set otherwise what good is a training centre when there are no trainees?

While the minifigures look like Lego, they aren't compatible in terms of the individual parts.  They have unique legs, arms and hands that differ from Lego minifigures.

You have to put all of the minifigures together yourself and this is how they all look assembled.

As mentioned earlier, the budokan is composed of 8 different sections.  There are a set of parts bags corresponding to each section.  These 6 bags are used in Section 1.

Section 2 uses another 6 bags, as labelled.

There are 7 bags of parts in Section 3.

Section 4 has 6 bags of parts.

There are 7 bags of parts for section 5.

Six bags for section 6.
Five bags of parts for section 7.

Finally, 8 bags for section 8.

Now that we have sorted all of the bags by section, it's time to follow the maunal and build a training centre for the martial artists.
