Here is every Japanese themed Modular building in my collection! (not Lego)

Hey brick fans,  I thought I'd share my collection of Japanese themed modular buildings with you.

All of these buildings are Lego compatible and most of them fit onto a standard 16x32 stud baseplate.

Some of them are my own custom buildings (mocs), and some are Cada brand shops.

From left to right, here are the shops and included is a link to my blog post of each building that has more details about them.

What's Inside the FunWhole F9024 Medieval Apothecary building block set?

Hey there, brick enthusiasts! Welcome back to Itsnotlego! Today, we're diving into the new FunWhole F9024 Medieval Apothecary with a quick unboxing.

Where to get it:  The Funwhole Medieval Apothecary set is up for grabs on both Amazon and the FunWhole website.

The Apothecary set retails for about $79.99 but always keep your eyes open for sales and promos and you should be able to get the set even cheaper from FunWhole.

Just like all FunWhole building block sets, it comes in a robust box featuring a lovely image of the set. Oh, and the trademark lighting is in there too. Flip the box, and you'll get a peek at how the set looks both in the dark and illuminated.

There are 1470 pieces with 2 minifigures, and the set is rated for ages 12 and up.

Check out the box's bottom for the lowdown on what's packed inside.

Now, let's crack it open.

Inside, you'll find a hefty instruction book.

The lighting kit, housed in a standout orange box, includes metal tweezers, 2 electrostatic pouches, and a battery pack (BYO 2 AA batteries).

Pouch 1 holds 6 components to light up the apothecary set, while Pouch 2 rocks a single strand of various lights.

Looks like there will be a small sticker sheet included in the set, as well as some capes.

The included 16x16 studs baseplate has me curious about the apothecary shop's final size.  Oh BTW, all FunWhole sets are Lego compatible.

Now, onto the bags – all numbered to match the manual sections:

  • Section 1: 3 bags
  • Section 2: 2 bags
  • Section 3: 2 bags
  • Section 4: 2 bags
  • Section 5: 2 bags
  • Section 6: 2 bags
  • Section 7: 3 bags
  • Section 8: 2 bags
  • Section 9: 2 bags
  • Section10: 2 bags

There are a total of 23 bags of parts if you include the minifigures. Let the building adventure begin!

Please check it out, Thanks and Bye for now!

Unboxing the new FunWhole F9022 Lookout Campground Building Block Set

Hi Brick Fans,

Today we will do an unboxing of the new FunWhole Lookout Campground Set.  The set number is F9022 and it has 1426 pieces.  It was newly released around October 2023.  This is a very unique looking set that I haven't seen anywhere else before.  I especially love the silver camper parked in the front of the watch tower.  It's a really idyllic looking scene with a nice campsite by the water's edge.

FunWhole has kindly provided this set for my review.  Thank you!
This blog post will take a look at what's included in the set.  I will do a separate blog post that will review the building of the set and I'll give you my final thoughts.

What's in the Box?

Every Funwhole set comes with a beautiful, sturdy box.  All of the contents are well protected and organized.

The Lookout Campground set contains one sticker sheet.  Not sure if there will be any printed parts yet.

There are bags of parts numbered 1 through 10, so it looks like there will be 10 corresponding sections in the manual.  I also got a bag of hoses (as labelled), a bag marked F that contains pieces for the three minifigures included in the set and also a bag of baseplates.  There are three bags labelled number 1.  The rest of the numbered bags follow.

I counted a total of 26 bags of parts.

A Quick Peek at the Manual

The manual  (or should I call it a book?) is huge!  It has over 252 pages, and that's not including the first 3 or 4 pages of introduction and separate detailed instructions on how to use the light kit. (more on that later).

Some really nice artwork on the first pages of the manual.

I just opened up a sample page frpm the manual so you can see how it looks.  The pages are all very crisp and the colors look on point.

The Lighting Kit

As per the FunWhole motto, their sets provide Delight Day and Night.  That means that each and every FunWhole set comes with an LED light kit.  This is how FunWhole differentiates itself from other Lego compatible brick brands.

The seal on the box indicating the set number F9022 looks very official.

Upon cracking open the light kit box, we find some familiar items.  If you have built other FunWhole sets you will know you always get a set of quality tweezers and a battery pack.  Funny though, I don't see a brick separator packaged here.  Maybe it will be in one of the other bags.  There are two oranges pouches that contain the lighting components.

In pouch 1, we find an 8 port expansion connector board, a USB plug and a wire with approximately 3 lights attached.

In pouch #2, we get a led light strip, and several led lights on wires.

In reviewing the box art and manual, we can see that the Funwhole Lookout Campground set consists of a tall watchtower and parked in front of it is a silver camp trailer.  There is also a large tree and even an outhouse!    From what I can see, the inside of the watchtower is lit up as is the outhouse.  There are a couple of shining lanterns and an open fire on the grounds of the campsite.  I think this is going to be a really fun build.   I think this set will nicely complement the other Funwhole sets such as the Wood Cabin and the Lakeside Lodge.

Here are my reviews for those two sets, if you are interested to know what they are like.

You can find the Campground set on the Funwhole Website or on the FunWhole Amazon store.
BTW, if you use my special promo code itsnotlego, you can save 10% on your entire purchase from the FunWhole website.

Look for my full review coming soon!  Thanks for stopping by!
